Introduction

    Where am I from?

Home is the little town of Lititz, Pennsylvania. Lititz was voted the Overall Best Small Town in the United States for 2013.

Do I have any brothers or sisters?

No.

Do I have any pets?

Our pet has us- she selected us. We have a cat, who is the best little kitty in the whole world. She is now approaching her 10th Birthday.

What do I like to do for fun?

I am a Model railroad buff, I enjoy working on Automobiles (both classic and current), playing piano, accordion, and Theatre Organ, along with dirtbike riding. I have been doing computer sales and service in the Lancaster PA area for the last 7 years, with a relativly comprehensive customer base, including doctors offices, appliance sales, buggy rides, and more!
Our 1941 Chevy- A blast from the past.

A Baldwin Theatre organ I restored, that we used in my High School for various sporting events, musical programs, etc.

My two trucks- I purchased the Red '88 F-150 for $95 early on in December 2011.
This was before the truck was operable. It had rained, and the red one looked better than it was.
Note the lack of mirrors.

What experience do I have in HTMl/CSS?

I have about 3 years of constant HTMl use, meaning I edited and created for an hour a day. I was the assistant webmaster for Lancaster Mennonite School Systems. I gave it up entering my senior year of High school due to political reasons, that being that the person I reported to left the country, and the person I was assigned to work for was the marketing director, who simply would NOT comply to any web "Best Practices." The link to the page that all of the statistical information about that page, in addition to my time listed, is Available Here.

At the time I was on the Web Team, we had a little over 1250 different pages for different occassions, news releases, etc.. We also had a custom made, in house PHP reregistration system for online reenrollment (using PHPmyAdmin for the database).

My major project my second year in was to build a utility in-page that allowed the Superindendent of the school to announce a snow day by texting a number the word snow, thereby triggering an email, and from the email, a change on a java script. That java script would then trigger an external access from a foreign IP, which was only accessed when the school was closing. The server was then set to take action from that foreign access and change the website index from index.html to index.htm, and the site would immediately have a banner added to it that announced that we had a snow day. A complex process, yes. Did it work perfectly? Yes.

If I put my mind to something, it will get done, and get done right. If I see it to be artibrary and irrelevant, it will recieve little mental firepower. Therefore, if people wish to see my full potential, I need to have a good reason to put together my thoughts.

What year are you in at Penn College and what is your major?

I am a Freshman, and my major is Information Technology, with a concentraiton in networking, and hopefully soon to be an extra Technical Support added on to the 4 year degree.

Why did I decide on this major?

I dislike programming, and love working with my hands, plus I have been in and around networks for the last 8 years, so I wanted to dive into something I know I already love!

What do I see myself doing as a possible career?

I would love to be an in-house Technician for a small to medium business, or work in a school. I have worked in a high school for the last 8 years doing what I love, and would love to continue that, but have a degree behind my name.

What are the possible uses of HTMl/CSS webpage development knowledge in my chosen career?

I have already been a webmaster in the situation where I worked previously, and I can imagine that said role would continue.

Susquehanna Valley Theatre Organ Society is a fantastic site that is not relevant to IT, but gives an incredible perspective on musical production.
